British Columnist's Meghan Markle Article Was "Sexist": UK Press Regulator

A column by TV personality Jeremy Clarkson in the Sun newspaper in which he wrote he hoped Prince Harry's wife Meghan would one day be forced to parade naked through the streets was sexist, Britain's press regulator said on Friday. The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) ruled the column contained a pejorative and prejudicial reference to Meghan's sex, in breach of the Editors' Code of Practice. The opinion piece, published in December 2022 and since withdrawn by the Sun, drew widespread condemnation from members of the public, politicians, Clarkson's employers and even his own daughter after he wrote that he hated Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, on a "cellular level". The column became the most complained-about article for IPSO, who said it generated over 25,000 complaints from members of the public. Clarkson and the Sun, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, apologised but IPSO launched an investigation based on complaints from two wom

Mr Chandrasekhar accused Mr Gandhi of visiting places where people are suffering instead of actively addressing the long-standing issues in those societies "I find that Rahul Gandhi always has this habit of making these visits almost look like a vulture tourist goes and travels places where suffering is going on. Instead of contributing to decades of tension in some societies that have been ignored by years under the previous government, he goes there for a little vulture tourism visit," Mr Chandrasekhar said. He expressed his hope that Mr Gandhi finds satisfaction in his photo opportunities during his visit and returns to his usual activities during his holidays in foreign countries. "I don't want to comment too much about it. I certainly think that all want peace to be re

In Verbal Slip Joe Biden Says Putin Losing War In "Iraq"

In a new verbal slip-up, US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin was "losing the war in Iraq" when he meant to say Ukraine. Speaking to reporters briefly before departing the White House on a trip to Chicago, Joe Biden was asked if Vladimir Putin had been weakened by the brief uprising led by a Russian mercenary chief whose forces had been fighting against Ukraine. "It's hard to tell really. But he's clearly losing the war in Iraq. He's losing the war at home and he has become a bit of a pariah around the world. And it's not just NATO, it's not just the European Union. It's Japan, it's 40 nations," he said. It was the second slip-up in 24 hours. Watch: Khawaja Bamboozled By Tongue At Lord's. His Reaction Goes Viral

Australia's David Warner made England pay for dropping him in helpful conditions with a quickfire fifty before the hosts removed Usman Khawaja after protesters briefly disrupted the second Ashes Test at Lord's on Wednesday. Fellow left-handed opener Warner was 53 not out in Australia's total of 73-1. That still represented a good morning's work for Australia, 1-0 up in the five-match series after a thrilling two-wicket win in last week's first Test at Edgbaston. Australia were sent into bat by England captain Ben Stokes on a green-tinged Lord's pitch and under overcast skies that aided the hosts' four-strong frontline pace attack. The match was briefly halted before the second over when two Just Stop Oil protesters ran

"Wild Arrogance On Part Of England...": Ex-Australia Star's Startling Take

Former Australian pace bowler Brett Geeves believes England's ultra-aggressive approach is likely to backfire during the Ashes, adding that the declaration on day one of the first Test at Edgbaston was a sign of "wild arrogance" on the part of Ben Stokes' side. England had declared their first innings on 393 for eight despite Joe Root batting on an unbeaten 118, and the home side could have easily scored a few more, which could have given them a psychological advantage. The decision to declare was criticised by several experts and Australia went on to win the thrilling Test by two wickets. Geeves, who has played one ODI and two T20Is for Australia and has been a successful first-class bowler, said 'Bazball' -- the term coined for England's overly aggressive and result-oriented style of play -- is unlikely to work against Australia. "It (Bazball) sets them (England) up to fail and to me it kind of feels like 'even if we lose we're playing the
