Billionaire Elon Musk took a dig at fellow billionaire and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on his knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI). The Department of Financial Services (DFS) had given Rs 8,800 crore to State Bank of India as part of recapitalisation exercise without the country's biggest lender asking for such funds in FY18, a CAG report presented in Parliament on Monday said. The department under the finance ministry did not conduct assessment of the capital requirement as per its own standard practice before recapitalisation, as per the Compliance Audit Report No. 1 of 2023 of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on Union Government (Economic and Service Ministries - Civil) for the year ended March 2021. "DFS infused Rs 8,800 crore into SBI in 2017-18 for credit growth considering it the largest PSB in the country even though there was no demand. DFS did not conduct assessment of the capital requirement as per its own standard practice before recapitalisation," it said. A group of men in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelvelli district have alleged custodial torture by an IPS officer. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered and the officer in question has been put on "compulsory wait, pending inquiry". The alleged torture is said to have taken place 10 days ago at the Ambasamudram police station. The men -- five shop keepers and an auto driver who have been accused in an assault case -- are now out on bail. The men alleged that Assistant Superintendent of Police Balveer Singh "crushed the testicles" of a man, despite knowing he is newly married. Five of the men say they had their teeth broken. The officer, they allege, had filled their mouth with gravel and then punched them on the cheek. National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA's) Hubble Space Telescope captured a galaxy resembling a jellyfish over 800 million light-years away, in the constellation Pegasus. "A "jellyfish" galaxy, JW100, is seen in the lower right of this image from @NASAHubble. A young boy in the UK who was searching for bones in his garden in East Devon made quite an ''explosive'' discovery, prompting a call to the bomb disposal squad. According to a report by Metro,  9-year-old George Peniston-Bird, from Yarcombe, was searching in the back garden when he uncovered a small explosive and came running into the house to tell his mother about it.
